Ashampoo Photo Commander is an all-in-one solution for your digital photo collection. It offers you all the tools you need to organize, edit, enhance, correct, convert, and share your favorite photographs, and the possibility of creating pro-looking slideshows, photo albums, collages, panoramas, and greeting cards with just a few clicks of your mouse.
Though it may lack some of the functions and features that you usually find in high-end professional image editors, managers, or converters, the average photo aficionado will find this application comprehensive enough to cover all his photo-related needs. From organizing to sharing your best shots, Photo Commander comes with such an array of functions and tools that some inexperienced users may find even overwhelming at times. You can start by loading and browsing your own photo collections, adding tags to them, filtering duplicates, and classifying them using the various criteria provided.
You can then correct and enhance your photos by removing scratches or objects that shouldn’t be there; applying some common color corrections settings; adding stunning effects, objects, clipart, and frames; getting rid of that annoying red-eye effect; rotating, resizing, or cropping them, and so on and so forth. Most of these editing tasks can be performed either to specific pictures or to entire folders and collections. To help less experienced users in these sometimes cumbersome tasks, the program comes with a series of wizards that will help you batch-enhance your photographs in just a few easy steps.
Once you are happy with how your photographs look and they are all neatly organized and classified, you may want to share them with your friends and family. You can do this in different ways – via a social network, or via the traditional slideshow or photo album on CD or DVD. You can upload and share your pictures and videos with your contacts on Facebook or Picasa and with the rest of the world on YouTube without leaving Photo Commander. You can also use the traditional e-mail attachment or the burn-to-disc option to send out and distribute your calendars, collages, photo albums, slideshows, etc.
Though not all possible features are present, and though some of them could use a more professional touch, most users may find that Ashampoo Photo Commander might well be the only tool they will ever need to manage and retouch their photo collection.
